We live in a blessed and resourceful land filled with so many mineral resources, hidden treasures, wealth, talents which are everywhere waiting to be discovered, but yet a lot of people still live in hunger, hardship, poverty because they failed to invest in themselves. In my previous article I wrote expressively How do i plan for successful future while in school. We sometimes see graduates with considerably high scores, probably he/she graduated with a First Class degree yet still jobless. Could it be because of a wrong step? What is the meaning of self investment and what can one do ( roles to play ) to be successful in life.

Self investment 

To a business man, investment is the act of investing or placing capital (money, resources ) on something with the expectation of deriving or making profit or income form it. So it is in a life scenario. For instance, If you see a beautiful girl you think would win Miss world, you’ll invest in her. So also If you see a talent in a young boy, you’ll invest in him.

Therefore, when you’ve been able to find your purpose, discover your hidden talent don’t hesitate to invest in yourself. Your purpose is what you can do tirelessly. It’s like a passion and you should never ever be afraid to show the world who you are. Finding your purpose is the first step to be successful.

A wise man once said "The efficiency of a car is not determined by how the car looks in the exterior. A car would still function even when the side mirrors are broken and the outside begins to rust. But no matter how expensive a car engine may be, it will knock when it lacks oil. You don’t see the engine from the outside. But, it sponsors the motion which is visible from the outside." below are reasons you should consider and put into action in order to be more successful in life.

How Can I Invest In My Self

1. Determine Your Purpose, Passion and Drive And Build On It
Determine what you have interest and passion for and invest in it, if you are talented in singing, dancing, rapping, cooking, writing, acting... and so lot more build on it and never get discourage, start up something today, You cannot customize your future by just sitting down. Use your hand to work things out.

Get something doing today, the only reason to stop you from starting to pursue your dream is when your resources aren’t complete ‘yet’. So long as you’re still saving, well-done. Note that the word ‘age’ is just a number. Someone might be 15 but have the experience of 25 years people. Never ever let age limit you from starting something. The world’s youngest sailor is a ’16’ year old girl who has traveled all over the world.


2. Set Priorities
There have been a lot of talks about setting your priorities right, knowing what to do and when to do it is another great thing that could ever happen to you. Create a vision for your self, set out plans and dream big "Nothing provokes the real you like dreams. I do not mean metaphysical dream" triggers your inner man.

Take your stand and laid down reasons why shouldn't be carried away Or discourage, always remember "no tree can make a forest and no man can make a crowd". A little drop of water make an ocean, nothing is too small neither too big, setup a priority today and work towards it.

3. Balance Your Needs And Save More
Having a scale of preference to separate your "Needs" from your “wants” should be your top most priority, First thing to consider in knowing How to Balance Your Needs and Save More is to ask your self this question "are the needs worth spending on? "

If you want to make more “profit” you got to think like a business man. If what you want to spend money on does not have great importance or by any means derive way of making you save or make more money for you, don’t spend on it. Make valuable investment and cut down your spending.

It pains me when I see a lot of youth sitting down in their comfort zone doing nothing, hoping, believing and waiting for a miracle, but to tell you the truth, you can't ripe on a land you didn't sow.

Get out of your comfort zone and get something doing, if you know how to sing? Start singing and let your voice be heard, It’s your life we’re talking about here. When it comes to certain issues, been shy would draw you behind. Never ever be afraid to show the world who you are. Been famous for the good you do is among the countless rewards you get for following your purpose.

Also, we all know that not all fingers are equal, it is true that some people are born with a silver spoon while others are still searching for their spoon, you know the family and class you fall on, then why wait and do nothing when they are so many things you can invest your time and resources on, and in a short while you start deriving income from it.

You can start any of this business ideas in your hostel or wherever you stay, You can tell your friends to tell their friends and before you know it, you will start getting calls and before you know it you start deriving profit from it.

5.Endure And Be Patient 
Endurance is a gift. Without it you won’t be able to achieve anything. Observe and wait for your positive results. Everything in life don’t come immediately as there tend to be discouragement and challenges but you must hold on and be willing to endure.

everyone is special and talented in their own ways, never say you don't have a talent because you do, OK that you are yet to discover it. Determine your purpose today and work towards it, noted that No one can plan your future for you, your future is in your hands, the decision your make today will determine your future.
